Andrea J. Price

Andrea Price is an eclectic and passionate artist with a love for social justice. She recently graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. Andrea Price has experience with various disciplines, which include Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, and Fiber Art. She experiments with different styles and ideas within each of these fields. The major themes of her work focus on social justice in relationship to people of color, especially within the black community. Each one of her works create unique beauty through serious or powerful content. Andrea Price is hopeful and fighting for a world of equity through her art that acknowledges and celebrates the vast amount of cultural diversity that God intentionally created.

As a result of her interest in social justice, she began exploring the history of race and how it shapes different societies and cultures around the world. Andrea Price has had the honor of watching and participating in the evolution of Healing Conversations. Healing Conversations has helped in her own journey toward antiracism. She is excited to share her perspective and knowledge with others willing to examine the ways racial division has impacted our families, churches, workplaces, and ourselves.

As the Art Services Manager for The Arts Commission Andrea Price is able to help local artists advance their careers by planning, developing, coordinating, and managing various grant programs. She is an advocate for artists having the professional resources they need to succeed.

Andrea Price is pursuing a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling with a concentration in Art Therapy. She is expected to graduate in 2025. She believes" “Healing does not just happen through talking, it is also important to make art and create movement. Our ancestors understood this intuitively.”

Bachelors of Fine Arts

Andrea Price developed her voice as a social justice activist and artist at the University of Toledo. She stated “Expect to see me making full-out tsunamis and hurricanes against these messed-up systems in my artwork and actions!”

Owens Community College

Associates of Fine Arts

Owens was the foundation of her art education. Andrea Price learned skills that began her journey into a deeper exploration of materials. It was also her introduction into the righteous indignation of social injustices that exist even in the arts.
